After Grey's Anatomy fans learned that Williams' marriage to Aryn Drake-Lee ended in 2020, many of them wanted to know why the couple went their separate ways. No matter what the reason for the divorce is, the fact remains that the couple is no longer together.Since he is a notable star, most of Williams' fans know what Williams has been up to in recent months. Who Has Jesse Williams Dated Since His Divorce?
After Jesse Williams and Aryn Drake-Lee was a couple for roughly a decade, he suddenly found himself single in 2017. While his divorce wasn't finalized until a few years after that, Williams certainly was free to date other people at that point.
Since 2017, Williams has been linked to three different women. First off, Williams and the former Friday Night Lights star Minka Kelly were linked for roughly a year before they broke up in 2018. From there, Williams went on to date the sportscaster Taylor Rooks for around 8 months.
As of the time of this writing, Williams is currently involved with the actor and dancer Taylour Paige that he started dating in 2019. Best known for her roles in movies like Jean of the Joneses, White Boy Rick, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, Boogie, and Zola, Paige seems poised for a huge career.
The Truth Aryn Drake-Lee And Jesse Williams' Messy Custody Battle
During Jesse Williams and Aryn Drake-Lee's marriage, the couple welcomed two children into the world. Born in 2013 and 2015, Williams and Drake-Lee seemed to be bringing their children up together until they got divorced in 2020.
Now that Drake-Lee has been single for a couple of years, it seems safe to assume that she still has built a life for herself and her kids.
Unfortunately for all involved, however, it is abundantly clear that Drake-Lee's life has largely revolved around her custody battle with Williams recently and that is a massive change for her.
During Williams and Drake-Lee's custody battle, both parties have made claims about each other. In Williams' case, he has claimed that Drake-Lee is "controlling and restrictive" about when and how their children get to spend time with him.
Furthermore, Williams has said that Drake-Lee has exhibited "erratic, gatekeeping behavior" and that she has "manic outbursts" including one time she “yanked Sadie from my arms like a rag doll”.
Finally, Williams contends that Drake-Lee submits "unreasonable" legal filings, and she is on "a perpetual loop of the same disproven, unsupported tales and flagrant disrespect for the court’s orders.”
Unsurprisingly, Drake-Lee has a very different take on what is going on. Over the last several months, Drake-Lee has called out Williams for being a selfish parent on Instagram including with a September 2022 post.
"Is it good for the health and wellness of a 7yr and 8yr old to be taken out of school on a regular basis to fly cross country overnight on a red eye to be on the ground for two days?"
"Is it reasonable for them to return dazed and confused and then be expected to pick right up and survive at school the rest of the week? I don’t think so! Neither do any of the parents who actually parent on a routine basis."
"There’s a name for the condition of an adult who expects their children to indulge, caregive and service that adult’s desires at the childrens’ expense… #receiptsseason#ihavestayedquietforfartoolong"
Later that same month, Drake-Lee took to Instagram to update her followers on the situation with Williams. According to Drake-Lee's post, the courts sided with Williams, but she pledged to still fight for her kid's best interests.
"It turns out the court does think it’s good for children to regularly fly on overnight flights to accommodate a parent who won’t do the same for them. Who knew? I knew…"
"Those of us who walk this path know what it is and know what we need to do to protect ourselves and our babes to the best of our ability. Every day we show up and do what’s needed despite the circumstances. I know I journey this road with my head held high and my integrity in tact."
