(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The June 26 No Doubt / Blink-182 co-headlining bill at Hyundai Pavilion at Glen Helen in Devore, CA, left thousands of fans angry and frustrated when a traffic jam, backed up 10-12 miles from the venue, kept them from reaching the concert. According to reports, the concert was “oversold,” drawing more than 40,000 paid fans; San Bernardino County spokesperson David Wert said the concert’s promoter underestimated the number of attendance by as much as 15,000 people. The venue has a 65,000-person capacity.

On the band’s web site, No Doubt’s Tony Kanal said, “I just wanted to say we are so sorry to everyone that got stuck in traffic coming to or leaving tonight's show in Devore. When we heard about the situation we pushed our set time back 30 minutes to try to give everyone more time to get into the venue. We got off stage well over an hour ago and we are sitting in traffic with everyone feeling really bad about what you guys are going through. Thank you to everyone that came out to see us and to anyone that didn't make it into the venue please check the NEWS section for refund information. The Hyundai Pavilion representatives are assuring us that an extra crew of people will be manning the phones on Monday morning to handle refund requests. Thanks again for your support and patience. We truly appreciate you guys.”

Clear Channel Entertainment’s Greg Terlizzi told the Press Enterprise, “ We feel really badly about what happened to people.”

While Clear Channel can’t take away the bad experience – some fans spent four, five, even six hours in their cars and some never reached the venue – fans are not only being given refunds for the missed concert but also free tickets to upcoming shows by Linkin Park, Incubus, Rooney or OzzFest. – Jane Cohen and Bob Grossweiner.
